Is THIS the truth?

Did I finally hear some sense come from the Keystone pipeline deal? Mass D Congressman Ed Markey (Mass 7th district) just explained the reason for the Keystone Pipeline opposition is quite simple. The Canadians are refusing to strike ANY deal with the US for building this pipeline, such as keeping the oil in North America to keep OUR prices down. Basically he is claiming the Canadians are wanting to place a pipeline through the US to sell oil from TX to China, or whomever.

Finally an argument that makes sense. The reason I question the validity of this is simple: If this were the reason for denying the pipeline, then why am I just NOW hearing about it? I actually agree with the Congressman here. IF the Canadians are risking our environmental health, and transporting oil across our nation, then WE should be the benefactor of this. That is really a really simple concept. Oddly enough, that message just came out today, though. I wonder why we haven’t heard that one before?

Another argument he made was that Canada was selling oil rights to China here in the US. Why do the Canadians have oil rights in the US – that they pay NO royalties on? Seems odd and stupid to me, especially since his argument against the pipeline is benefiting from the overall agreement. Hmmm. Interesting for sure, but where is the truth?

The Breakup of the Century?

Not Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.. Kirsten Stewart and that weirdo from Twilight Robert Pattinson. Like, OMG, she cheated on him? No way!

Who the Hell Cares? I personally think someone lied to her and told he she was like really hot – she is not. This girl is trash and it should be no surprise I would say for this to happen. Not only is she trashy, she is mega-millionaire who is like 24 years old. Get over it already. People without money do worse things to each other, I could only imagine how little Suzy would treat Timmy the football star if she came into money like that… Think about it.

Anywho, for all you idiots out there crying because Bella and Edward did not work out – guess what – this is REAL LIFE not some idiotic fictional vampire tale. The book still ends the same as yesterday, and these two are no more impervious to cheating than any other couple. Who knows? Maybe Edward is a real jerk in real life, or maybe he did not please her in bed, or maybe, just maybe they started a relationship based on working together – odds not very many would overcome I think.

Any way you slice this pie you come to this: How does it affect you? Short answer: IT DOESN’T! Stop contemplating suicide and stop living your life through a fictional relationship.

Gun Control and Bill O’Reilly?

I just witnessed Billy get his big worded A%$ handed to him by Utah Congressional Republican Jason Chaffetz. Billy tried to tell Chaffetz that ANYONE can go buy a fully automatic AK-47 at ANY gun show, and essentially go on a shooting rampage. Is that not blaming the gun for the crime? First, Chaffetz informed Bill that he was misinformed and that he did not know the law he was passionately debating against. Second, he blasted Bill on the 2nd amendment. Apparently Bill wants the FBI to own a master list of anyone who own firearms or bullets. Huh? Here I was thinking OReilly was a Conservative. He wants the government to WATCH everyone who buys a gun regardless the RIGHT to own it.

I don’t live in Utah, but this singular debate would garner another vote for Chaffetz. He is good in my book, and O’Reilly once again gets caught on his nonsensical soap box.

Publishers Clearing House!!!

Win $5K a week for LIFE! What’s better than that? $5K a week for another person’s life (I assume after you die). Wow, that is an offer I simply cannot refuse. sign me up.

Wait a minute… I sign up, and then have to use this PCH search box thingy to sign up? I thought I already signed up. Oh there’s more? There IS more, there are “special offers” coming my way. Well, I did not want to purchase anything; I simply wanted to be signed up to win the money. SKIP, SKIP, SKIP, five pages later you get to the actual sign up page. Now they want personal information. That’s where I draw the line. I was already aggravated by the B/S, but this is too much. They try to justify their fishing trip with this statement:

We need your information for processing of award(s).

Really? You have my email address. If I win, email me that I won and I will be happy to DRIVE TO YOU to begin the collections process. I am not providing my cell phone number, street address, date of birth, etc. Hell, you can almost get credit with that much info. You could probably buy a car at a finance here place with that much. No need to come to my door with the PCH van and a huge check. Publisher’s Clearing House is a giant salesman and nothing else. They offer crappy products at false discounts to fund their operation. The profits are the PCH giveaways. I’m not saying it is illegal or they do not pay here and there. I AM saying in order to enter a contest, you must be willing to jump through numerous hoops and give out your personal info. I am unwilling – even at the risk of becoming rich.

Aurora, CO Shooting Rampage

There was a shooting last night around midnight at the Aurora, CO Batman premiere. This was a terrorist action. Not an Al Qaeda, or organized crime from what we currently know, but a terrorist action no doubt. Think not? Was Nidal Hassan a terrorist action? The only difference I see so far is there has not (as of yet) been a connection to a terrorist organization from this CO shooter. This is terrible. A four month old was injured, a dozen killed, 71 injured. Terrible. I hope they hang this guy in the street so all the little kiddos can see what happens when you act up.

GUN CONTROL NOW!!! Not so fast. While this is a horrendous act, crazy people do crazy things. It is really quite that simple. I am quite sure the Left will try to politicize this as a religious zealout right wing nut, and the right will try to spin this as something as well, but this guy was just twisted. Gun control will solve nothing here, as this guy was not utilizing the gun for LEGAL use, so no matter the regulation – this guy would have killed.

Look, knee jerk reactions solve very little and wind up punishing those who do not deserve such. If we are going to take everything away that kills, let us make a list:

1. knives

2. cars

3. swimming pools

4. boats

5. jolly ranchers

6. rope

7. tall buildings and bridges

8. life

Do you see where I am going with this? C’mon people, if you don’t like guns, then do not buy them, but a gun will no more kill someone than a car without the presence of a operator. This guy is a nut and committed a terrible crime… Punish him appropriately, grieve for the families involved, but leave the politics out of it.

Obstructionist Congress

Obstructionist is defined as:

Obstructionism: deliberate interference with the progress or business especially of a legislative body. Webster’s

Given that, it is safe to assume that an obstructionist is one who partakes in obstructionism. School is over, time to get to it. Democrats and Liberals have been claiming the Republicans are merely obstructionists for their actions in the House since the Republicans took over the majority in that portion of Congress. Approval ratings are in the toilet and both sides blame each other. Well here is the nuts and bolts of the argument.

The Democrats had control of Congress (Senate and House of Representatives) and the White House. This was the time to bully their opposition as they could push through any legislation. I personally think they got used to that. They enjoyed having the power to pass any law they wanted and fed off the power. Now they are unable to do that resulting in this obstructionist language (whining). From my perspective, the House has passed numerous bills the Senate refuses to even allow a vote on. Would that not make the Senate the obstructionist side of Congress? Well, if that were true, then that means the Democrats are being obstructionists. Now the talking point does not work, so let us ignore what the Senate does, like NOT passing a budget, or taking up a single jobs bill from the House.

Truth be told, the Democrats want it their way or no way. That is their version of “negotiations” all the while their talking heads go out and blatantly lie and change the subject when it is brought up. Need examples? Bob Beckel when pressed about ANY touchy subject gets “angry” and attempts to take over the conversation by loudly attempting to demonize Mitt Romney. Alan Colmes won’t answer a question directly if his life depended on it, and quite frequently talks about something else as if that were the topic at hand. Jehmu Greene gets on her talking points and ignores others are speaking, so she just rambles on about whatever SHE wants to talk about, or personally attacks (Calling Tucker Carlson a bow-tying white boy). Could you imagine the outrage if he would even SUGGEST she were black, much-less adding a stigma to that observation? THAT would be highly racist to call a black woman black. I digress.

This is not really about which side of the aisle you are on, but common sense. If you think the questions are loaded, which they generally are, then don’t go on the shows and give your expert “opinions”. If you are such a political and mental powerhouse, then just answer the question as you see it. I see the problem being that the Liberals don’t really have a position on some issues, so they tend to attack instead of defend their own thoughts. They have none, so they try to muck up the water. This is quite apparent with the obstructionist Congress. If anyone is being obstructionist, then they ALL are. The glory of divided government – it works that way to ensure we are not overloaded with more ObamaCare fiascoes.

So I suggest if the Right is obstructing, then so is the Left. Guess we are paying these jack-wagons to do nothing. I just find it so amusing that in today’s politics if you are the opposition party, you are somehow expected to not be in opposition? Megan McArdle writes a great article on the obstructionist Congress and its history (This is not the first time). To act as though Congress not agreeing is unprecedented – well that in itself is a fallacy.

Interesting Comparison

All this talk about Romney and his “overseas” money and paying their fare share. Romney is a rich guy, so what? Does anyone out there REALLY think he is smuggling or laundering money somehow? I mean really? Well, the argument from Liberals and Democrats is the guy makes too much money and does not pay his fare share blah blah blah. Sounds like petty jealousy or talking points to me, but let us look at the other side of the coin nobody wants to talk about. Elephant in the room, I know..

Barack Obama made $1.6M in OVERSEAS revenue. Interesting. I wonder what for? After all, was he not a Senator at the time? How did he manage to make $1.6M overseas AND $6.1M total for that very year while holding public office? I was unaware the US Senate paid so well. I wonder if Obama has ANY right saying Romney is a rich guy, when he, himself is a rich guy! Did he pay his fair share? I don’t know, but I would be willing to bet he took advantage of every loophole available to keep his money HIS MONEY – and not the government’s.

I find it VERY interesting the media refuses to make the correlation here. Hey pot, this is kettle for crying out loud…
